The 28th Anniversary of President Bayar’s Death

President Gül, in his message on the 28th anniversary of the death of the 3rd President Celal Bayar, noted that “With the mission he assumed in Turkey’s transition to the multiparty democratic life, late President Bayar left his mark on the history of Turkey through his contributions to Turkey’s development as a modern country and to its economic, democratic and political strength.”

Below is President Gül’s message on the 28th anniversary of the death of President Celal Bayar:

“The 3rd President, Celal Bayar, made great services to the nation and the country. Making tireless efforts as a man known as ‘Galip Hoca’ during the independence struggle, Celal Bayar, who assumed important responsibilities during and after the establishment of the Republic, also displayed great efforts for our nation.

With the mission he assumed in Turkey’s transition to the multiparty democratic life, late President Bayar left his mark on the history of Turkey through his contributions to Turkey’s development as a modern country and to its economic, democratic and political strength.

Our nation remembers Celal Bayar, who succeded in all the struggles he made through his perserverence, strong will and belief in democracy, with tribute.

I also remember the 3rd President of the Republic of Turkey, Celal Bayar, a great statesman and politician, with gratitude and respect on the 28th anniversary of his death. I once again extend my condolences to his family.”
