President Gül Approves Supreme Military Council’s Decisions

President Abdullah Gül received Chief of General Staff Full General Necdet Özel and National Security Minister İsmet Yılmaz.

The decisions of the Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) were submitted to President Abdullah Gül by Chief of General Staff Full General Necdet Özel and National Security Minister İsmet Yılmaz.

The YAŞ decisions came into force after President Gül’s approval. The change to the command echelon were read by Ahmet Sever, Chief Press Advisor to the President.

According to this, Full General Abdullah Atay was appointed Commander of the Gendarmerie Forces.
