President Abdullah Gül, after having performed the Eid Al-Fıtr Prayer at Sultanahmet Mosque in İstanbul, celebrated Eid Al-Fıtr with citizens and had a memoir photo taken with children, adding that “we are sharing the agonies of the Muslim people in Iraq, Syria and Gaza.”

After that, he celebrated Eid Al-Fıtr with citizens and had a memoir photo taken with children. The President later noted that “when our Muslim siblings in some countries are going through agonies, we are celebrating Eid Al-Fıtr with sadness in our hearts. We are sharing the agonies of the Muslim people in Iraq, Syria and Gaza. May Allah provide the Islamic world with peace for the sake of these holy days. We have been making great efforts so that our citizens who are held hostage in Mosul can celebrate Eid Al-Fıtr with their families. I hope that they will be with their families safe and sound soon.”
The President afterwards proceeded to the Tarabya Presidential Palace in front of which he was welcomed by children and on his way to his Residence, he celebrated Eid Al-Fıtr with cab drivers waiting for him as well.
