The 21st Anniversary of Former President Turgut Özal’s Death

Issuing a message on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the death of the 8th President of the Republic of Turkey, Turgut Özal, President Gül said “Serving the country through the important duties he assumed, Turgut Özal was an eminent leader who won the love of our people. Our nation will always commemorate the 8th President of our Republic, who made tireless efforts for the development of our country, with gratitude and respect.”
President Abdullah Gül issued a message on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the death of Turgut Özal, the 8th President of the Republic of Turkey.
“I remember a great statesman and politician and the 8th President of the Republic of Turkey, Turgut Özal, with tribute on the 21st anniversary of his death. Serving the country through the important duties he assumed, Turgut Özal was an eminent leader who won the love of our people. In the same direction as the world, Turgut Özal implemented many reforms that paved the way for our country and he enabled it to broaden the freedoms and strengthen its democracy and opened the economy to abroad through the important advances he achieved. Our nation will always commemorate the 8th President of our Republic, who made tireless efforts for the development of our country, with gratitude and respect. I am extending my condolences to his family on this occasion.”
